The Toccoa Falls College World Outreach Conference is scheduled for January 30 — February 1. This year’s speaker is David Lauffer, a TFC alumnus.
David is the assistant vice president of International Ministries for the Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA). He provides strategic and administrative oversight for the regions of Africa, Europe-Middle East, and North and Central Asia.
David began serving as a pastor in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania from 1984 to 1988. In 1988, the Lauffers began sixteen years of C&MA international service in the Middle East where they ministered alongside messianic congregations. David served as the field director from 1995-2003. During his years as field director, a fruitful ministry began among thousands of temporary workers from other countries. The Lauffers returned stateside and planted a church in Saline, Michigan, where he served from 2004 to 2007 before becoming the assistant vice president of International Ministries in 2007.
David and his wife Merilyn were both raised in active C&MA families. They met and completed their undergraduate studies at Toccoa Falls College in 1983. David’s graduate work was pursued at Alliance Theological Seminary and Wheaton College Graduate School. Today, they are the proud parents of four adult children and one grandchild.
The World Outreach Conference will be held in Grace Chapel on the Toccoa Falls College campus. The public is invited to attend on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. An International Fair will be held on Tuesday night following the evening session. This is a highlight for the conference because missionaries will be wearing the cultural dress of the nations they represent. Various Toccoa Falls College organizations will also have information about volunteering overseas.
Wednesday’s evening session will have a focus on how the message and love of Jesus Christ has impacted a people group, specifically the Hmong.
